First tastings of the 2014 in preparation for the blends:
For already 9 months on the lees in our barrels and wooden vats, the wines are continuing their « gestation ». Today they are more elegant than powerful. Remember, August was cloudy and rainy then September was warm and sunny.
The grands crus Avize and Cramant stand out with their strong personality.
We’re letting the wines 2 more months feed on the contact with their natural lees and we’re continuing to sharpen our blends for the bottling end of July.
Of course the vineyards also need all our attention: ploughing, debudding…
We’re helping the plant with some horsetail to develop its verticality and with some essential oil of sweet orange to create a favorable atmosphere.
Temperatures are cool, the north winds blow, the season is not early, no spring frost : in conclusion, so far so good !
The flower will be there in a few days and the hot weather too !
In this month’s issue of La Revue du Vin de France, our Vieille Vigne de Cramant is « a must » in 2014 according to Antoine Gerbelle.

A tasting, a land celebration, a communion
In February 2015, the Trait-d-union group went to Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne in Australia to understand the australian indigenous culture.
Australian indigenous art is, to aboriginal people, a celebration of their land, as are Champagne wines for wine growers.
